Copper's mom found me on Rover.com when she needed a pet sitter over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Copper is wary of strangers, so we did a meet and greet in advance to make sure this was a good fit. Being familiar with dog body language helped me recognize Copper's boundaries, which I fully respected.

Copper was rescued from the streets of Singapore as a young dog, and has lived in numerous locations with her family ever since. I hate to think of what this beautiful girl experienced on the streets to make her so wary of people. She is living the good life now though! She has a big back yard to roam and explore, and a family that adores her. They have trained her well - she knows all her commands, and accepts correction when needed.

Maybe next time Copper will let me pet her - I really wanted to!
