Spring has sprung and along with it, all the pretty flowers. But as gorgeous as they might be, the flowers you bring home or grow in your garden might be a danger to your precious cat family members.
Sadly, Lilies – as in Easter Lilies – are among the most toxic plants for your kitty and can cause acute, potentially fatal kidney failure. And beware: not all lilies actually look like lilies. Flowers are sneaky that way.
So, this Spring, be sure to keep toxic plants away from your feline friends (check out the graphic – courtesy of Chewy – to see what other plants may put your pet in danger). Symptoms of poisoning may include vomiting, drooling, and lethargy – and if you suspect your cat has ingested something they shouldn’t have, call your vet immediately.
The Pet Poison Helpline is also a resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, call (855) 764-7661.
