Girls day out with Sadie Marie! It was a beautiful day to walk around historic downtown Stuart and shop, get a mini-facial, eat ice cream, and people watch along the St Lucie River.
Sadie Marie has been at the shelter since February 2024, and in the 11 months since then, I don't know that anyone has ever asked to meet her or if she's ever had a "day out" - so today was her day!
She was on her best behavior - she enjoyed the car ride, walked perfectly on her leash, listened to me when I asked her to stop and wait to let people pass, and sat when I asked her to sit.
We were invited into the D'or 24 Salon and Sadie Marie stretched out on the cool tile floor while I got a complimentary mini-facial. Then we went to Kilwin's, where I got ice cream and she got a small pup cup. Her nose picked up on all the good smells inside Kilwin's!
Sadie Marie was not reactive to any of the dogs we encountered. While we sat and ate our ice cream we encountered a Rottweiler, a Westie, and a Terrier mix, and she sat calmly next to me. She watched them as they walked by us, but she didn't react and she didn't bark. I was so proud of her!
At the shelter Sadie Marie sits quietly in the back row of kennels waiting for someone to give her a chance, she has been overlooked for so long. She would be perfect for someone looking for a calm, older companion. Please stop by and ask to meet with Sadie Marie, she deserves someone to love her for the rest of her life.
Sadie Marie says YEAHHHH, let's go!
