After experiencing a very unexpected major life stressor yesterday, I turned to my four legged friends for comfort and companionship. I needed to keep myself busy and my mind occupied, and Toby and Dolly were just the company I needed. We sat outside with our art supplies in the early afternoon sun, hearing planes flying overhead from the Stuart Air Show, and got our hands and paws decorated in festive green (non-toxic, washable) paint.
Both dogs were calm and cooperative while making their paw print Christmas trees, Dolly especially. She stood as still as a statue when I lifted her paw to put it in the paint, and was so gentle pressing her paw onto the canvas.
I have a few ideas on how I want to decorate the trees and will post pictures here when they are completed. As for what to do with these canine creations, they will either be sold and the money donated to the shelter, or they will go home as a gift with whomever adopts these wonderful, creative dogs <3
10 year old Toby is SO proud of his artwork!
Are these not the cutest little dog-grinch feet?
6 year old Dolly is a thoughtful and patient artist
